The Empty Photograph - IOV Awards 2007 Nomination
After months of hard work the final version of The Empty Photograph has been produced and was finsihed in time to enter into the Institute of Videographies 2007 Awards in the Best Short Film category. All traces of my name had to be removed from the IOV version so that judges could see all the entries fairly. I am delighted to be able to say that the The Empty Photograph has been short-listed for an award. This is fantastic news, I believe, for everyone involved in its production and I am very grateful for all the time and committment given by cast and crew.
The Empty Photograph is due for general release at the end of September beginning of October 2007 and details of how to purchase a copy will outlined in this blog nearer that time. A trailer for the film is included in this blog below.

The initial stage of judging the 2007 IOV Awards has now been completed. Please find below the short-listed entries - in no particular order.
2007 IOV Awards Short-listed entries The day proceeding their recent meeting, the IOV Executive committee and its admin team, sat through all entries and selected the five short-listed videos in each category of the 2007 IOV Awards. In no particular order, the short-listed winners are: -

Quentin Budworth of Mediaworking - 'Show and Spell'
Nik Farrimond of Seal Films - 'Inner State'
Alan Rae of Raetech Productions - 'Blue in Blue'
Phil Janvier - 'The Empty Photograph'
Sam Spence of Media Addict - 'The Deal'
Each short listed winner will now go on for second-stage judging - where they will be sorted in order. The final order will not be revealed until the awards ceremony on 17th October at Wroxall Abbey (tickets available from Janet Fenton on 01253 884100 /07909 530181 or by email janet.fenton@iov.co.uk (£55 per person or £495 for a table of 10).
The top three positions will receive one of the coveted IOV trophies, whilst the remaining two entries will also win a short-listed trophy. All winners will benefit from standard press releases - plus publicity photos with our celebrity presenter, Sian Lloyd.
